Songs you like with USA States or towns in the title

52 posts in this topic

Music lovers, here's another music thread you are bound to like. I thought about this idea the other day for a trivia question in the trivia comp I was in. For some reason, USA states or cities/towns seem to roll nicely in songs. I wondered what would be the most liked. So I'll start this thread and after a few weeks list up the most popular.

My initial list of top 10 songs with artist (prolly list another fer sure and certain). These are not in any particular order.

Man, I had to think hard because many of the songs I would have selected have already been listed by others.

Still, I can pull some tricks out of my old bag (and I'm getting old for sure):

Walking to New Orleans -- Fats Domino

Kansas City -- Wilbert Harrison

The Battle of New Orleans -- Johnny Horton

Georgia on My Mind -- Ray Charles

The Boy From New York City -- Ad-Libs

The Little Old Lady From Pasadena -- Jan & Dean

Hawaii Five-O -- The Ventures

Freddie 'Boom Boom" Cannon sang Tallahassee Lassie.

And that reminds me, he also sang "Way Down Yonder in New Orleans."

I don't feel like going back and checking all the replies, but I don't think "Amarillo By Morning" by George Strait was listed and also "Anybody Going To San Antone" by Charlie Pride.
