I started this raised garden bed in late 2010. I stopped in march of 2011 to increase security do to events at that time. I laso had no idea how to get around the pine tree with the garden wall?
These shots show where I left off in 2010. Also you can see I aquired more dirt! Corona gold!!! From the school remodel around the corner. There is alot of iron in the soil giving it an orangish color.
I now have a new next door nieghbor and he put in a driveway. He circled the pine tree and I copied his way with my garden wall. This is all design as I go!
As you can see I made my way around the pine tree. There is more design work to consider at this time!

My nieghbor loved it so I perminately installed the garden stones properly with gravel and dirt. I am quite pleased how it turned out! I am on hold now until I get that boat out of my backyard. It will be trapped back there if I procede!
This thread is going to get palmy...
First pic has a group of palms, Trachycarpus sp., Copernica alba and Butia paraguayensis.
The second pic is (band roll playing!!!) Jubaea chilensis, I can't wait till it gets big!
On the other side I did some planting. Dypsis plumosa and Ravenea glauca.
In September I have a Palm Society member from Austrailia visiting me. My goal (a lofty one!) is to have that garden wall complete and the pavered side walk a drive way installed. I have to put in a leach line for laundry where the boat is now. Then I can erect a covered patio also where the boat is now. Except for the backhoe I am doing all the work.
I will add post to this thread as things get done.

Lots of work there, and great progress! Must be very satisfying to see the change. And more to come! Best of luck!

Your garden and front yard looks amazing. It has changed quite a bit since I was last there. I can't imagine how everything will look in a couple of years.
