I am going to Tampa in a couple months and doubt I will make it to the Miami area (so no Fairchild this trip) and was wondering if there are any palm nurseries in the area that I could visit. I know the good stuff is down south but there has to be some decent nurseries not too far from Tampa.

You want to buy stuff or see stuff? There are several nice gardens in St. Pete; Gizella Kopsick and Sunken Gardens are noteworthy...

I am looking to buy palms. The airlines do not have rules against shipping palms in the plane's cargo so whenever I go to Florida I bring palms back. I box them up as if I am shipping them and just pay the baggage fee which is less than shipping. You just have to make sure the box is not oversized.
