jes & paul in san jose del cabo, baja california!

57 posts in this topic

in may jes & i travelled to san jose del cabo in baja california for the wedding of some friends. jes' parents were kind enough

to give us a room at the raintree resort for the week. the wedding was held at the cabo surf hotel(also in san jose del cabo),which was about 2 miles

north of our hotel.

post-206-056818600 1323404940_thumb.jpg

the anticipation builds.

post-206-082405500 1323404954_thumb.jpg

nice weather in SD,its hard to leave sometimes.

post-206-014918900 1323404963_thumb.jpg

i entertain myself by taking random shots of our fellow passengers, many who we'd get to know later at

the wedding.

it was a 20 minute drive from the airport to the hotel, with some nice

views of the ocean & endless scrub brush.

post-206-020126500 1323405895_thumb.jpg

the reception area made good use of the view.

post-206-012528500 1323405905_thumb.jpg

the resort is situated in cliffs above the sea.

simple architecture.

post-206-048603800 1323405912_thumb.jpg

the best way to get around was by golf cart, but we walked as much as possible.

post-206-046676100 1323406923_thumb.jpg

here i am trying to appreciating the view from our suite. i had to use a razor blade to

get that sticker off.

I like the architecture and how it's perched upon that dry rocky site. So is this the trip that you smuggled those seeds back in your rectum? Or is that just every trip? Or just an everyday, around-the-house, sort of thing?

The cycad seedlings you dug up and brought back, when will they be ready to sell? The pictures you sent me were pretty cool. Zamias and Ceratozamia are my favorite and do really well here. Look forward to your PM. :)

Oh, nice pictures, the trip looked awesome!

lotsa pool time,we had to be well rested for the bali trip, which was only a few days

after this one.

post-206-063430700 1323669260_thumb.jpg

jes' parents were supposed to be driving down from SD & staying with us but had to cancel last minute due to

health reasons & so we realized we were without a car. the main road was about 1/4 mile from the hotel, only a 10

minute walk,so we just walked to the bus stop when we needed to go the few miles to the cabo surf hotel where

the wedding & most of the other activities were taking place.

on the way we passed the westin & its palm-rich grounds.

post-206-070803400 1323669269_thumb.jpg

it was HOT & there was no shade on the way. there was a good breeze, though.

the cabo surf hotel had that small boutique hotel atmosphere, mostly due to the fact that

it was,in fact,a small boutique hotel.

The mens' room image is in the style of the Colombian artist, Fernando Botero. (My sister likes his work, :mrlooney: )

Picasso briefly painted in this style, also.

Enjoyed the pics, checking now and then for more, and they appear, like magic! I'm fairly certain that vivid blue exterior paint is restricted for sale within the U.S. as it is rarely seen on this side of the border. I used to go to a lobster restaurant in Puerto Nuevo that was about that same hue, inside and out, a nice contrast to the giant red lobster shells mounted on the walls. (sigh) I need to go south again, haven't been there in years. More photos please. :)

the nuclear soup was mighty fine. the food in general was much better

than mexican food in san diego, which is mostly "taco shop"-type food.

all the food we had in small restos on this trip was fresh & delicious & tasted like

someones grandmother made it(not mattyb's,though).
