with Gulf Stream, the climate on the French coasts is very mild, for example, this garden is in zone 10a! so they don't need to protect palms and others exotic!

Beautiful. The palm and exotics palette is extremely similar to that of San Francisco. Looks like summer may be warmer there, though.
