Archontophoenix myolensis, in ground 12" clear trunk, 6 foot overall.

24.1F, no frost, no overhead canopy

50% leaf burn

(took 28F, no frost, night before w/ no damage)

Bummer matty!! Mine has shown no damage as of yet at 33.4

2 gal plant saw 29 and no noticable damage. plant is amongst other pots by north facing wall with a slight roof overhang but is right below remote sensor that read 29.

2, three foot tall plants, planted in July 2006. No damage or burn.

Planted in open, on decomposing granite, full sun, with ground cover to base of plant one one palm (lantana) and ti plants  next to the other.

3 plants, tallest about 6', 6 year old seedlings, near house and right (6") from the outdoor thermometer.. All killed instantly it appears from temps 27F.  Never seen a palm die so fast from freeze... except the nearby Archontophoenix purpureas and tuckeris (also croaked instantly).  King palm 4' away was hardly touched (some burn't leaves)... so there is a significant species difference in cold hardiness, at least as large seedlings go.

palm is about under a foot planted in the ground in spring of 08 2 nite of mid 30's with light frost

about 40% leaf burn
