WARNING FLORIDA STORM THIS WEEKEND

15 posts in this topic

Ken,

I would like to place an order of 6" of rain over a 2 to 3 day period. Bill me, I'm good for it.

The Thursday 00 utc run of the GFS shows the low forming well east of Fl and as far north Melbourne....the ECMWF still has it to the west in the gulf, but neither has it as anything other than a cold core low.

Was hoping a couple of days ago there might be some rain here, but if the GFS is correct, it's a no go.... :(

...who knows, Tank, you might get a few inches of rain outta this. :)

Picked up 6.5" at my house thus far. Looks like a low/gale center will be moving NW over E. Central Florida today and tonight, maybe I can finally give my new Kestrel anemometer a test run?

We recorded 6.35 inches from Friday afternoon until today, 4.93 just on Saturday. A good, much needed soaking.

We got something like 12 inches out of the storm. Citrus growers are having to pump water out of their groves.

4 inches here. The area is so dry that you'd hard pressed to find standing water a few hours later.

It's pouring as I type. Approaching 3" so far, but I know lots more is on the way.

The first storm gave us over 12 inches of rain. The second that ended this morning (Oct 19) brought only about 4.25 inches, but a cloudburst last night caused a lot of street flooding and the local Art Museum has a serious leak in the roof.

My yard's looking fine. Here's a young Satakentia liukiuensis that looked doomed after last December's big freezes:

So much for the big storm. TOTAL of 2/10" in about an hour of rainfall and some spritz. Believe it or not, we could use some rainfall. The big rains just stayed south. A nice downpour before winter sets in would be real nice! Just sayin.........
