A friend from the US visited last week and she wanted to go to the Poas Volcano. We spent a night in Grecia and then drove up to Poas the next day before heading back to my house.

When we arrived at the crater, it was almost completely fogged over

Thankfully it started to clear within minutes after we arrived

On the ride home we kept seeing signs for Outback Jack's Roadkill Grill so of course we had to stop there for lunch.

My lens fogged up as soon as I removed it from the air conditioned car.
Notice the huge Attalea in the background

My lens finally cleared up...

While we were having lunch, a few pairs of Scarlet Macaws flew by

Jeff,

Wow, what a day! :) And you were sure fortunate at Poas! Those are dramatic shots. I wish we had been that fortunate back in 2008 during the Biennial! And "Roadkill Grill" - just too tempting to pass up!

Thanks for the great pictures!

Bo, it was very strange, almost as if someone used a huge fan to blow away all the clouds for a few minutes so that we could take some photos. Then just as quickly the clouds rolled back in and obscured the crater.

Michael, it looks like Jack beat him to it!

Peachy, Poas has been more active lately and has been smokin a lot!

Thanks Paul. The last time I attempted to see Poas was with you and Jes but the weather did not cooperate that day...

Ari, yes Jack came over and introduced himself. He's definitely an Aussie. :)

Aren't you lucky, Jeff, to have a sight of the crater at this time of the year!

Where's Jack's located?

You're welcome Bill!

Patricia, Outback Jacks is located on the Pacific Coast not far from Jaco. It's near another restaurant called "Steve and Lisa's".
