It's always tough writing on memorial threads. I have known Lois for several decades. When most of us joined the IPS, Lois was already an important part of the organization. She was one of the first "seed persons" I knew well and distributed seeds worldwide to many palm enthusiasts. She was always a willing and active member of the Society, helping at meetings. With the asistance of her husband, Kurt, Lois assembeled a very nice garden sporting many unusual species. And, she was always willing to show it to anyone interested. Her garden was on tour for the PSSC on several occasions. I always tried to seek Lois and Kurt out at meetings, just to give her a thank you hug for all her wonderful work. I was surprised with her passing as she had become such an icon with our group. I figured she'd live forever. I send my sympathies to Kurt and their family. I will really miss her but my memories of this fine person will persist forever with me.
