Lois’s Memorial Service will be at Faith Lutheran Church located at 8200 Ellis Ave, Huntington Beach, Ca. 92646 at 1:00 PM. on Saturday 7/16/2011.

I'm very sorry to learn this sad news. Lois and Kurt were most kind to me when I was a rank beginner. Thousands of cultivated palms are the results of Lois' years of effort for the IPS seedbank.

I quickly got to know Kurt and Lois many years ago when I first joined the PSSC and the IPS. Lois was such a wonderfully dedicated person and we always had great conversations. I am truly sad to hear this. My thoughts are with Kurt and the family and I will surely miss not seeing Lois at future Biennials.

We are very,very saddened, to hear the news, of Lois passing on. We so enjoyed their company, each time we ran into them at Palm society meetings and biennials and always loved to hear her stories of all their biennial travels, throughout Lois and Kurts lifetime together.
She was a palm enthusiast as well as a very enthusiastic lady in life. Our best wishes are with Kurt and their family now and the memories of our times with them, will always remain in our thoughts.

My thoughts and sympathy go out to Kurt in his time of grief - always a sad situation when such a long term relationship is severed by the death of the other. And sad for her extended palm/plant family that included many, and that reaches back over so many years. We will all miss her dearly.

Very sweet and gentle people, I had the privilege to talk to on a few biennials

Her memory will live on here in Portugal, the tiny seed of Sabal "riverside" I got from her is a massive tree now

Sad to hear about Lois. I always seemed to run into Kurt and Lois in airports going to and from the Biennials. We spent lots of time talking during layovers about the trips she made to the Biennials before I became interested in palms. It got to the point I would expect them to be at the gate waiting for a flight to someplace palmy every time I went anywhere.

I've still got a few trees growing from seed she provided to the seedbank.
