Well from my experience of germinating seeds of Beccariophoenix alfredii, the soil needs temperatures in the high 20s to 30s, for it to germinate. After sprouting, the soil high temperature still needs to be maintained to develop the rooting systems and the first leaf. Soil temps in the teens will stop early growth.
