Veitchia metiti

I got a couple of these seedlings about 2 years ago from Floribunda. I was expecting a vry marginal grower, but these have proven to be the most robust Veitchias I have. They've grown well, they stay outside all year, & so far they have not ever cold spotted. They are still in pots, under canopy. Not intimating that they're the palm of the future for SoCal, just that they've seen temps regularly in the 30'sf with no trouble. Better than any other Veitchia I've ever had.

Will try to get a pic tomorrow; had my main computer die recently, hence the reason I've not posted pictures the last three weeks. There is also a pic or two of seeding plants in the Jeff Markus garden tour. They are from Vanuatu.

How about a bump!

Was scouting around in the garden lately and this grouping of V. metiti is finally looking good.

Started as bare root seedlings and for a long time looked pretty wimpy. Have gotten the 'stink eye' from me more than once and

glad they didn't get the hook.

Wondering what happened to yours Bret.

Please say Veitchia mechesti dear, there is no need for vulgarity on the forum.
