Document Sharing

Palmaholic John

Hi,

I was thinking about starting a topic to share & see how others keep record of their palms & related information (Excel, Word, electronic database system). I was hoping that interested PalmTalkers might share the electronic tool that they use....and, we all could get ideas from each other. However, I'm not sure how to do this.

Obviously there's a way to upload pics....but, is there a way to upload documents? If so....sorry; I'm still learning the site. If not (and if it's possible to do)....PalmTalkers might like a document sharing function; should I poll to see if there is even enough interest?

Do a search first John. I remember this topic coming up in the past.

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!

With the most recent upgrade, I believe most file types (.pdfs, .docs, .xls, etc) can now be uploaded (excluding flash) and added to posts. They can also be sent through PMs. In other words, you can share them if you wish.

Thanks to those of you who help make this a fun and friendly forum.

If your document type is not accepted when trying to upload to the forum then try to convert it to .pdf. Most programs you can 'convert', 'export', or 'publish' to .pdf.

Another option is to backswipe all of the text on your document, copy it, and paste it into another word processing program or word pad or something like that that will either let you upload to the forum or allow you to convert to .pdf from there.

Or you can do like Kathryn and print and scan your document into a .jpg.
