Nice!  Awesome palm.  It will love a half day in your Burbank sun.  That spear will test your patience...It'll keep getting longer and longer and longer and you'll say, "Open damn you, OPEN!"....Sorry....flashbacks...Have fun.

Oh, yeah, sweet as sunshine.  Lovely palm, though I must warn, it might be a bit touchy up there in Spermbank, up in the dry inland Valley, like totally.

They like plenty of moisture, and high humidity, if you can give to them.  They seem to thrive in my evil clay.

Wait till it gets bigger, about 2/3 King Palm Size, and starts to really get fuzzy.  It's the only thing at my house hairier than me!

Yet, at the same time, they're also graceful, the way the leaves get longer and longer and longer (as Matty pointed out).

When large, they look like a King Palm in the Papal Swiss Guard, or something:  Bright green leaves, red crownshaft and white trunk.  Eye candy!  Lick-licky-licky-lick . . .

Hmm...what would be best practice for me then?  Mucha agua en la palma?

Agua, good drainage, and high humidity.  Try to keep it out of the Santa Ana winds.  Burbank isn't as bad as the actual Valley, but I know you get nasty wind up there more than we do down in the Big Orgy, or in Sadism.

(Orange County or San Diego.)

They will take full sun, indeed prefer it.  I've got some in sun, some in shade, the sun specimens rock, en el sombre, not so good. . . . .
