Encephalartos arenarius x latifrons

I've got some really cool Encephalartos arenarius x latifrons hybrids for sale. Arenarius is the closest relative to latifrons so these guys should turn out really neat. Arenarius is often called the "poor mans latifrons" since it resembles latifrons but is way cheaper. Latifrons is one of the most sought after and perhaps most beautiful encephalartos and very expensive, usually they sell for $750 to $1000 per inch of caudex. These hybrids will look just like latifrons but are a fraction of the price. I have them in 1 g pots and they are about an 1'' or so now. They average 4-7 leaves and are very healthy and growing extremely fast with hybrid vigor. I am asking $75 on these guys, dicounts available if more than one are purchased. Give me a buzz at (949) 338-3032

What a great looking hybrid. Wish I would have bought one of these when Braden was selling them. Looks like it has grown very well for you, even in a pot. Thanks for posting the picture.

Nice!  I don't have any from this cross, but I have two from a pair of other crossings (an E arenarius blue form x latifrons and an E blue arenarius x latifrons) with both males and females unique plants in the two crosses.  They are still young, and pushing their second flushes this summer (seems only my small Encephalartos ever push multiple flushes in a year).  They are very blue and showing very little of the latifrons at this point, but I know that can change (or not).  Obviously, my dream is that they start morphing over time to a more latifrons appearing leaflet and retain the blue!
