Hello all,

I just want to remind everyone about the 2006 Biennial in the Dominican Republic coming up October 1-8.  The registration deadline is August 15.  I know lots of people procrastinate til the last minute, but the deadline will be here before you know it.

All the information concerning the Biennial can be found at:  http://www.palms.org/2006/index.htm .  You can register online or by fax or even by snail mail.

Registration has been good and I would not be surprised to see us reach our limit of 200 attendees.

Sooooo ................ as the used car salesman would say .............. Don't delay, register today!!! :D

One month from today registration closes!  If you plan on attending, register soon!  It will be a great time - lots of palms in habitat, palm nuts from around the world will be there, and excellent rum!  A chance to meet people and get your palm "fix" for the year!

If you have any questions about the biennial, email me privately at licuala@bellsouth.net

Waldorf--

Looking at Paul's first photo in this thread, I'm ready to give you a common name candidate for Pseudophoenix ekmanii:

"long-necked-goose palm"

{Alert the media!}

Roberto,

After taking a "gander" at that photo again, you may have come up with the perfect common name! :P

It was quite the hike to get up close and personal with these rare palms. Growing on pure hard weathered limestone.
