Old Latan on Jupiter Island

This is what I believe to be an old Latan. I do not know what variety. Sometimes Bismarks look amazingly similar:

My experience tells me that a Bismark would be huskier. This is a closer look at the crown:

Any thoughts?

Not a Bismarck, I daresay. The crown is too massive proportionate to the stem and the leaf ends are not stiff.

The course designer certainly has a thing for palms.

The drooping segment tips are not typical of Latania loddigesii, but with the age and height (exposure to wind) it just might be. Here's a young one to compare it with:

A close up of the stem would help too, but....

:(

I'll see if I can get a close up of the stem detail at the crown.

The very irregular trunk looks like lodo. If it does not have a lot of tomentum on the petiols it may be one of the others. Plus I looked again and now it think its a girl.

Actually, I think we may be looking at an old Latania verschaffeltii (the yellow one). These don't hold on to as many leaves in the crown. I'll post a pic of my young one tomorrow; promise I won't show too much of the innards.:D

That Latan is OLD. Probably from the 50s. It is probably L. lontaroides too.
