I think this first shot is Adonidia merrillii, the fruit/seeds were bright red oval shape about 3 cm long.

This second shot I believe to be possibly Carpentaria acuminata, the fruit/seeds were were also the same bright red but a bit smaller and rounder about 2cms.

The crown shaft is a lot whiter than the pale green of the Adonidia merrillii

Bangor, Norin Iron Zone 9a Min temp normally around -3 Degrees C, rarely -6C. Only 2 x -2.0C so far, verging on 9b this year. No snow or Frost this Winter. Several just subzero's this year, lets hope it stays this way. Normally around 5C to 10C + in winter, with lots of wind & rain. Summers usually better, 20C to 25 C occasionally 25C to 28C, also quite humid being a coastal town

Andy, the first one is Adonidia, the second is a Veitchia of some sort, not sure which one, maybe joannis. The seedling is it from the first pic or second?

Smaller rounded seeds is not joannis, arecina, or winin. They're the only ones I know. Maybe spiralis. Someone else will know more than me, but I definitely say Veitchia.

It actually looks like a V. spiralis seed. The leaf does as well...except for the midribbing on the leaflet. My V. spiralis never did that, but maybe some do. So hard to tell for sure with an unknown Veitchia.

It does appear to be a veitchia(2nd pic.). Veitchia winin does have small round seed. My trees are so big now, I can't remember if they have a white crownshaft or not. I will look at it.

Seed does not look like any of the Veitchia seeds I have they are more oblong. The plant looks like my Adonidia merrillii seedling, but if they are from the 2nd picture than that can't be. Nice looking seedling.

In which case seeds I have collected from what I thought was Adonidia merrillii in the past, may not have been?
