Not too shabby, right? It looks way better than the queen on the left.

Not shabby at all..

Kept moist moist, ..and well fed,  Majesty Palms come real close to the Coconut look, esp if adjusted in a manner while growing where the trunk has a nice lean to it. Not sure where they were taken (  Hawaii, possibly? ) but there are some pictures on the web of a group of  tall, well grown specimens that could fool anyone walking among them,  who might not know the difference between the two..  into thinking they were Coconuts,  sans the fruit.

Can't go wrong with a look alike that is self cleaning, cold hardy ..relatively fast ( if cared for correctly.. ) w/ no spiny / super heavy fronds, or knock you out fruit to clean up.. The fat, bottle-esque trunk on younger specimens is a pretty sweet attribute as well.  Beccariophoenix are great too, but might be too slow for some.

i think ill stick with cocos, i mean the lookalikes arent realy that much hardier, they were just meant for places like socal where temps arent high enough in the day, but not that cold at night either. i mean if cocos will grow than why not grow them . a very cool plant though i just dont think it would look much better than the coconut in this crazy winter.

These palms are good for the further north parts of Florida and other places, like New Orelans.

Nothing to say here.

Here is a majesty Palm in Ocala, FL. Originally, there were 3-4 plants in this “clump” but the new owners cleaned it up and I think it looks beautiful. It is quite the front yard specimen!C70F111E-8337-47BA-8A32-FD341D0F15A2.thumb.jpeg.a28a078e642c6a1e4cef12e9549fe4dd.jpeg
