Thank you!  I'm very happy that moving and staying here worked out for my family.  I did learn a lot in California and am always learning new things (and battling new things) here.

Yeah certainly didn't want to make it sound like a breeze in Hawaii. I'm sure there is a whole new set of things to battle there. You should make a thread on challenges in Hawaii for us pipe dreamers. I know weeds are a crazy issue there.

In some ways it is a breeze and a dream come true.  But every place comes with it's unique challenges, and that includes gardening.  Weeds are definitely crazy here and a constant battle.  Banana moth and other pests can be an issue as well.  Thankfully I haven't had too many issues with those yet and those I have had have been treatable (They do seem to go after the prized palms!).

But no gophers or water shortages!

A good friend of mine has finally set seed on his palm and I got a few good seed. Hopefully I don’t die before I see it at this size. I have one planted and it is sooooo slow

My little one planted in 2015 from a 4 inch pot.

The photos of adults posted here are just amazing.

I bought mine based on the name, since I planned a trip to the Masoala peninsula of Madagascar that year.

I had to check the petioles for markings!

Fuaaaaaa.... That's slower than slow 🤐 A very beautiful specimen though...

I have germinated a few, for the garden of my unborn grandchildren 😐 Ten seeds sown on 1/1, three had sprouted and were transplanted in August. I transplanted another sprouted specimen in September. I checked yesterday and found that two more seeds have germinated.
