Question on IPS Membership Renewal

Gbarce

Recommended Posts

"I’ve checked on this, and Eugenio’s payment was applied to a 2008 membership. This was done due to the amount he paid ($35). In accordance with the new pricing, all $35 payments coming in through the website are applied to 2008 memberships and all $45 payments are applied to 2009. Because of this, Eugenio will receive the 3 back-issues that have mailed for 2008, as well as the last issue as part of the regular mail list. The back-issues were mailed out on October 9th."

The quote above came from an e-mail forwarded to Bo and was part of another thread. Anyway, simply put I just joined in October 2008 but because of the Price difference in in membership the issues of Palms that were/will be sent to me will be the 2008 issues.

Ordinarily I should renew my memership in October 2009--But then I would be missing out on the 2009 issues of palms. So I guess I should just "double-up" on my membership now so as not to miss any issues??

I did I just answer my own question?

Is there a way around this?

Gene,

It just so happened (fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at this) that you signed up right smack in the middle of the transition from one way of doing things, to another. In the past, with Allen Press as our management company, due to the cost involved (long story....), ALL memberships were on a calendar year basis, i.e. Jan-Dec. Now with Stansfeld & Fairbrother (Liz) as our new management company, we have transferred to rolling memberships. In other words, if you sign up in October 2009 for instance, your membership will run for 12 months from that time. Since you're receiving all the 4 issues for 2008, your initial $35 payment went towards a 2008 membersh
