I finally got a good size bizzy. From what I know it likes the heat and doesnt seem to like shade that much. I got it from lowes so.... does that mean it needs to gradually go full sun, or do you think it should be ok in full sun at first? Here it is... (new camera, excuse me for the blur if any)

Hi Palmy,

I bought mine @ Lowes too. In fact I exchanged it for a bigger, better, healthier one.

It gets full sun from 7AM to about 3PM, and when it's planted it'll be full sun till 7 or 8PM in the summer.

I water it everyday and give it Whitney's Palm Food, and it's really happy. In fact, a large new spear is about to open.

Enjoy your Bizzie! :)

Zach, If it was green house grown, you will get a little burn, but it WILL acclimate!

Also, if you are not going to plant for a while, place up on bricks to keep the roots out of the ground.  Or if not planting for a LONG time, put in a big (or at least 15 gal) container now and still keep off the ground.

They HATE having their roots disturbed. When young, usually kills them, when older, just sets them back a ways..
