Hello, everyone: I have a nice crop of hybrid Brahea seeds, free shipping worldwide to all who want, no charge. These are large seeds, so I won't be able to get many in an envelope. As the pictures show, this thing is big. It was planted from a very sad-sack 7 gallon in 2006 more or less. It's now the better part of 30 feet (10 m) tall, about 12 - 15 feet (4 - 5 M) across the crown, and about 60 cm (2.5 feet) across the base. The Shoe is 32 cm, 12.5" long. I really don't know if these will come true or not. This palm is far bigger than either of the parents, which I think are B. armata and B. brandeegii. Full sun, regular water for fastest growth,…

Wow, it's Easter evening, and I sit, gazing at a HUGE amount of Brahea hybrid seeds, needing a home, and love. Below is a picture of the parent. GORGEOUS, I think.(Pic below.) 10 M (30 feet) tall, 3.33 M (10 feet) across crown, about 2 - 3 feet (.6 - 1 M) across base of trunk (without leaf bases). This plant is awesome. I've sent many seed before, and I'll send many more again. These will take heat, cold, and more water than most Braheas. What is not to love? If you want seeds, FREE OF CHARGE send me a Private Message ("PM") with "Brahea seeds" in the topic, and your mailing address, and some seeds will be yours! Happy (no, ECSTATIC) palm growing!

Free Archontophoenix tuckeri seed 1 2 3

Howdyall: I have a fine crop of A. tuckeri seeds, and the ones I tested were all sinkers, that is, they didn't float, so they should germinate well. Here's a picture of one of the trees. It's about 25 feet (8m) tall, trunk is about 45 cm (18") across the base. The Shoe is 13" (32 cm) long. I have about a dozen in my garden. They make great canopy. They're fast, pretty all year round, don't hold dead leaves. They rustle in the wind. The specimen pictured was a 3 foot (1 M) tall 15 gallon in 2008. They will suffer cold damage below freezing 0 C, 32 F, but recover quickly if heat comes back. They HATE desert heat. They will grow well indoors…

The palm below has been in my garden since about 2004, when I got it as a 15 gallon. It's now about 10 feet tall. This is a great species for those PalmTalkers who must contend with heat and cold. It's native to Argentina, where it experiences both. If you're in the Mediterranean region in Europe, England, maybe even Holland, these are worth a try in the ground. Likewise in the Southeastern US where a lot of cool palms are marginal; South Carolina, and southern Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Northern Florida. Try them in West Texas, Arizona. They will take cool, too, in British Columbia, northern California, coastal Oregon and Washington. And, anyw…

Canna jaegeriana

The good news; I collected a high elevation form of this Canna in Ecuador in 1996. It grows very well here in San Francisco, a cool, humid USDA zone 10A. The stems are about 9 feet high, the foliage is reminiscent of Heliconia, hummingbirds are crazy for the flowers, it grows all 12 months of the year, every stem makes good seeds. The seeds are viable for a long time. I have a large crop of seeds. The bad news; The foliage is damaged by wind, similar to banana. The seeds are difficult to germinate, with a low percentage of success. I tried scarification but that just seemed to increase rotting. If you have a good technique share it with me! More good news; …

Free Hybrid Ceiba Floss Silk Seeds

One of my big tree interests is Floss Silks and the numerous species that make up the group: Ceiba: speciosa, crispiflora, chodatii, insignis, rubriflora, schottii, pubiflora, jasminodora, and others. I have approx 60 grafted trees in the ground here of unique flowers that I’ve found exploring around. With those, I’ve made numerous hand-pollinated crosses to try and obtain new unique flowers. I don’t have the room to grow enough of each cross out to see all the combinations, so this past summer I distributed approx 1,000 tagged seedlings throughout the area for people to grow in their yards. I have approx 10-12 of each cross in peoples yards (see map of locat…
