Well, it looks like these guys are gone. Unfortunately for me, the last thing functioning on their website was the ability to take credit card payments. I had been buying their Lepidorrachis sprouts for several years. Now they have a payment, but I have no order; fax is diconnected. Seems like if you know you're shutting down, you wouldn't be taking money. Ay..

I have bought several seeds from this site and they all were immature or just bad seeds. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but after several purchases I gave up. They will not get any more of my money. I wrote to them to tell them what was going on and I did not ask for more seeds I just wanted them to know about the seeds in case it was a mistake but they have never replied to my email.

I placed an order several months ago with Jeff Marcus--- this is a bit of a testimonial to his good operations for the local buyers. ---- Its easy to praise good service but the real proof of good service is when things go a wrye. The order involved some rare C. tuerkheimmi which are very fragile and summer is hot and unforgiving in FL. UPS totally botched the order mixed up it up with another order thatn they coluld deliver. Before I even realized things were screwed up I got a panicked phone class from Jeff. He called me three times to make certain it was right--- He also called UPs countless times to ensure they kept it in the office where it was air condition…

Hello, Chris (JubaeaMan183) offered to sell me a nice looking Attalea cohune before the holidays. We corresponded by PM and text. I sent him money via paypayl, and he told me he would ship it the week after Christmas. I have not received it nor heard back from him since that time despite several text messages. It looks like he has not logged on here since December 26th. Does anyone know if he is okay? Thanks, Daniel

Well ... what Marisa has done for me is incredible. A Brasilian woman remembering a German one and took a L. hoehnei from Brasilia to Germany. I have not made it to meet her personally, but I know Marisa will receive a personal gift around Christmas. I do believe that it is easy to order for all Americans - as far as I know, international shipment is not available at this time. Look at a phantastic and giant nursery with very special palms. Internet Palm Vendors

Hello All, Aside from RPS & Ortanique, I've been watching the following palm seed suppliers. Can anyone vouch for them? Any troubles ordering/receiving seeds? Are their seeds fresh; do they germinate? I don't want to be gypped or have my cc# stolen. Seedrack.com Thaipalmseeds.com Amazonia Palm & Exotic Seeds - This site confuses me. It offers some seeds "in stock", others as "coming soon" with proviso that buyers commit to purchase at unspecified prices. I don't commit to anything open-ended like that and I've noticed in the past several months the coming soon stuff never arrives. What's the deal?

I went to ben for some larger specimen plants for buddies yard since he was willing to pay more for for larger stuff-royals and foxtails. theses were nice plants and showed up in good condition although not as acclimated as he claimed-the foxtails. i also spotted some 5gal Coccothrinax "miraguama" advertised on his website. He did the classic up-sell "we dont have those but, we have these larger ones" my buddy said ok because i told him that was till a good deal. The plants were delivered and i showed up a week later to help out. The CoccoT's were not miraguama but, in fact barbadensis-the most common and cheapest of the genus. I called him on it and he told me "either wa…

Golden Gate Palms

I stopped by Golden Gate Palms in Richmond yesterday and I feel that I must ask; 'What has happened to this place?' The gate was open, although the hours for Sunday are marked 'Closed'. I'll leave the names out for this report as I am only reporting my experience. I went in and met the person in the yard and told him I was looking for something small to take up my hill to plant on Earth Day. I am not a big Earth Day supporter but looking for an excuse to plant a tree was pretty easy. After shedding the suggestions of a Pygmy date Palm, Queen Palm, and 'Fan Palm', it became pretty clear to me that the person attending probably knew less about the stock than I. I a…

Palm Seeds Thailand

http://www.palmseedsthailand.com/ keeps sending me news letters about new available seed. Has anyone used them and if so what are your thoughts. I tried ordering Kerriodoxa elegans seed for a project but every time I agreed to the amount of seed and price was informed they were sold already and I should've sent the cash immediately as only then is the seed procured. So ended up giving up on the deal after three attempts thinking and rightly so that if I couldn't get my money there faster than 24 hours the time to agree the deal and wire the PO then there was no point in the exercise at all as was simply pointless???

PrimarilyPalms on Ebay (Toyclub4men)
by The Silent Seed- 1 reply

This gentleman sells palm and cycad seeds on Ebay. It's too soon to tell if the seeds germinate, or not, on the Palms, but I know that every single Cycad seed I have gotten (All Cycas) floats like a cork. This usually is a sign of not being fertile, or a bad seed. I can understand if a few float, and the rest sink. I only wish. This seller also rarely responds to messages. Very rarely. That said, he always sends the items in a timely manner, and includes extras. Overall, I would rate this a good seller, if you stick to the palm seeds, as long as you understand that he probably is not going to "get back to you."

Brantley Palms

Bryant Brantley has some great deals on fields of Butia odorata palms. He has started venturing into other cold hardy palms as well. He gave me a great deal on a nice field dug trunking Trachyocarpus fortunei and threw in some extra potted palms as well. He was a genuinely nice guy who was a pleasure to do businesswith. He hand dug, wrapped, and tractor loaded my palm with a lot of expertise. ..almost no roots were cut in the process. He is located in Perry Florida on some nice farmland.

For anyone looking for some nice Sabal Minors (Louisiana form)... this guy has some VERY nice ones at great prices. my personal experience in dealing with these guys i hope will be helpful to others that maybe considering tying to acquire some plants from them. i had contacted them via email and phone calls and they told it was no problem for me to stop by for some plants for me as a homeowner. i showed up from AZ and they told me they were closed-thanks. again, a few calls confirming that it was fine to buy plants for my house and not a mention that they prefer to only deal in wholesale. even if they are gracious enough to be open to the public some random weekend perhaps other palm collectors will consider my experience with these guys.
