Anyone have tips on sourcing exotic palm species in the Philippines? I looked into importing some seeds but found the regulations to be onerous so I am looking for a local supplier. I am hoping there is an IPS member who lives in central Luzon and has some interesting palms to sell. By "interesting" I mean things that are different from what we commonly find in shops. So far the ones I most commonly find are: - Foxtail - Manila palm - Royal palm - Phoenix roebelenii - Areca - Lipstick palm - Bamboo palm - Bismark - Anahaw (saribus rotundifolius) - Licuala - Coconut - Date palm (phoen…

Looking for Jubaea x Syagrus...
by Waterboyke- 3 replies
- 1.4k views
Hi all, In the first place, sorry for my bad english... I'm from Belgium (Europe) and I love palm trees. I have therefore different species in my garden several years. Now I am looking for the hybrid Jubaea x Syagrus. Other Hybrids have certainly also my interest. It's very hard to find Hybrids like this here in Europe, so therefore I hope find someone that will help me and also would like to send to Belgium ? My preference is for plants, but seedlings or fresh seeds are certainly welcome. Many thanks ! Greetings from Belgium Dimi

Picked up an Erythrina falcata yesterday, and besides the two palms listed in the title, the only thing left on the wishlist is a Chiranthrofremontia lenzii. Hawaii, however, is a different beast - TONS of stuff on the wishlist. Thanks in advance. Justin

Learned about this palm species recently and now I can't stop thinking about it. I'm in Canada which makes for an extra challenge in finding them. Rarepalmseeds.com lists them as out of stock, and I can't seem to find anyone else who sells seeds for these. Assuming availability surges seasonally, when is a good time of year to look for them? Is there anywhere else to look? Are there any places in Brazil that export them? There must be some commercial availability somewhere if vendors can sell the plants? Of course if there is anyone here that has any that they'd be willing to sell to me, I would love to hear from you! Please and thank you 🙂

Looking for Maxima King Palms
by Briank- 2 replies

I've been looking everywhere! Have not been able to locate any in San Diego. Found 1 place that had 15ga singles but I'm looking for at least a double or triple. Trying to get atleast 15 ga or up. Want to plant into front yard immediately. Already have 4 regular kings but think a maxima would go well with all the Foxtails and Royal palms I put in front yard.

Looking for Miami oolite rocks
by Zeeth- 1 reply
Hey all. A few years ago I got a few rocks of Miami oolite and have used them as landscape edging at my parents garden, and I'd like to do the same with my new garden. I'm looking for rocks in the 6 inch to 1 ft range that I can use as landscape edging. I've had a hard time finding them at landscape places, even in South Florida. Does anyone have some or know where I can get them? I can come pick them up sometime this week.
