Took some video of the coyotes this morning. He's got a racoon I think. Little buggers chewed through some of my drip lines too. You read about people being caught in airports with critters taped to them to smuggle them past customs, usually for the pet trade. Here's one species very unlikely to end up that way. The Asian Giant Hornet. Click on the link and check out the pictures. (I can't post them to this site, sorry.) http://behindthewall.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/10/03/20800024-china-struggles-to-control-spate-of-hornet-attacks-as-deaths-rise?lite Checking my undies right now . . . .

BS man's comment in response to another post, somewhat articulated my concerns about not participating in Facebook. I fear yet another time-wasting engine, to add to the others. . . . . While I am a member now, Ive not participated at all. The way the site changes all the time, and the battles over privacy settings make me nervous. Thoughts, anyone?

Us humans... 1 2

Some of the threads lately have got me thinking. I hear "we are destroying the ecosystem" and how bad we are for earth. It got me thinking. Why are we so quick to throw the human race out of the evolution of the earth? Why is it that our actions (good or bad) are not considered part of nature? The goal of any life form is to breed and expand the range of its species and humans have done that remarkably well. Why is it that if a bird carries a seed over a mountain range and the plant grows and flourishes its "nature at work" yet if a human lets a seed go its now "invasive". The new "invasive" plant is now doing the best thing it can do at the expense of the "native" plant…

Palm Silhouettes
by Daryl- 6 replies

Palms are often spectacular for their form and shape, and this is clearly represented when cast in a silhouette. You know, such as the classic 'Hotel California' album cover, where even Washies look great! Here are some CIDPs I shot yesterday at sunset...they make a great silhouette with their architectural leaves... Feel free to keep adding your photos to this topic... Daryl

Only in a rural community. Hit-and-run accident ends horse race through town OPELOUSAS, La. (AP) - It was a hit-and-run accident where the offending party rode away on his horse. Opelousas police continue to investigate a Wednesday horse race through the center of this town of 16,000, reports The Daily World (http://bit.ly/1adn4iC ). The driver of the van wasn't hurt, but the horse smashed its head through a side window and hit the van hard enough to leave a dent. The driver says the horse reared up …
