Yesterday I found the older naturally sprouted offspring from my Livistona decora ,about 5yo , dead because of the Paysandisia archon. It was still very small and it was the second only year that it produces fan leaves. I was leaving it unprotrcted on order to see severity of infection risk. The result has been disheartening! I have numerous big palms that I routinely protected with nematodes and I was expecting that Paysandisia would prefer only those tall trees to lay its eggs. I was wrong, it very probably lays eggs in EVERY palm beyond seedlings growth stage.
